Head of School Update - Brazil to Trinidad

Dear Friends and Families,

Concordia will depart Natal today - if all goes according to plan! The new piece of safety equipment is scheduled for delivery early this afternoon (it is coming with a new crew member - see note below) and the vessel will depart shortly thereafter. We apologize for the delay but have worked as quickly as possible to ensure safe replacement of necessary equipment.

We will also have a change in crew today. Chief Mate Kent Cassels will be replaced by Chief Mate Ben Gowland, who has sailed previously with Concordia.

This service delay will now impact the vessel's time in Trinidad & Tobago. The vessel can make up time enroute if winds are favourable and so at this time we are only announcing a revised arrival date of June 1st. We will keep you updated throughout next week and will make best speed to ensure limited disruption to the schedule. While frustrating it is important that we place safety first and the students have enjoyed additional shore leave time in Natal as a result of the delay.

Enjoy the rest of your week - we are supposed to hit 28 degrees in Lunenburg today - and Happy Memorial Day weekend to our American families!

Cheers,
Kate
